I called Tree Heroes to trim our great live oaks. We’ve had these trees trimmed annually for the last 17 years and when George came out to walk the property he gave us a fresh take. When they did the job they were prepared, quick and precise and afterward my property has never looked better. These guys exceeded my expectations and I recommend this service.

Tree trimming and pruning in Cypress, TX keeps mature trees healthy, safe and good-looking without harming them. Routine pruning maintains tree health and appearance while reducing risk to your roof, fence, driveway and the people below.
Every cut has a purpose. We prune with long-term tree health in mind, following ANSI A300 standards, and we never “top” trees.
Our trimming and pruning services include
Crown thinning
Selectively removing branches to let light and air through and reduce the weight the canopy carries.
Deadwood removal
Taking out dead, dying and broken branches before they fall.
Clearance pruning
Raising and shaping limbs away from rooflines, driveways, sidewalks and power lines.
Storm preparation pruning
Reducing end-weight on long, heavy limbs ahead of storm season.
Mature tree structural pruning
Correcting structure on established trees where it is still possible to do safely.

Trimming done to arborist standards
Most tree damage we see in established Cypress neighborhoods starts with poor cuts: topping, flush cuts and lion-tailing that strip the inner canopy. Those cuts invite decay and weak regrowth.
We cut at the branch collar, remove no more than the tree can handle and explain what we did and why. For oaks, we follow Texas oak wilt prevention guidance on pruning timing and wound care (see Texas Oak Wilt).
Ideal for
Mature shade trees over homes and driveways
Backyard trees over pools and fences
Street trees in established neighborhoods

Tree Trimming & Pruning: frequently asked questions
How often should trees be trimmed in Cypress, TX?
Most trees benefit from an annual inspection and routine trimming as needed. Young trees in newly developed neighborhoods need attention most often.
What’s the difference between trimming and structural pruning?
Trimming removes visible growth. Structural pruning shapes long-term strength, proper branch structure and balanced branch distribution. See structural pruning.
When is the best time to prune trees in Cypress?
Late winter and early spring are the best times to prune many tree varieties, but some trees can be pruned year-round. Oaks are the exception to plan around: we follow Texas oak wilt guidance on timing. See our Texas pruning calendar and guide to pruning oaks.
Can I cut the top of my tree to make it smaller?
We don’t recommend it. Topping leaves large wounds and triggers fast, weakly attached regrowth that is more likely to fail in a storm. Crown thinning and reduction cuts make a tree smaller or lighter without those problems. Read why we never top trees.
How much does tree trimming cost?
It depends on the size and number of trees, how much work each needs and how easy they are to reach. We give you a clear quote after assessing the trees. Request a quote and add photos if you can.
